When one door closes...

You know what they say, when one door closes.  Well, here lots open!  I randomly decided to knit my dad a pair of socks for Father's Day this year.  So randomly that I decided to while I was typing about it in the forums on ravelry.  Well, last year they did not get finished in time, so I thought I would try and get them finished in time by using worsted weight yarn this time.

I did it!  This is seriously a personal best for me.  I sure hope he likes them, they are quite soft and should fit just right.  I decided to use yarn from the stash so I could begin as soon as I had finished typing the musings about the socks.  I didn't even spend any time choosing a pattern, just dove right in!  I used all but 10g of the Chroma for the sock body and then used some Paton's Wool for the heels in a complimentary brown shade.

Dilemmas, dilemmas…as I said when one door closes!

I have made 2 pair of socks for dad, 1 pair for me…mom wants a pair so I really should start on those…

I want to make DD a pair, to match the ones I made myself, using the leftovers from that skein…and they would go faster than anything else…so I sort of want to make those first.

I have lots of things on the needles that I should work on… I want to get one of the two shawls off the needles before I cast on the Damson shawl with the Octavia yarn I bought for it.  However, I really want to try out that silk yarn!

Hahaha, what to knit, what to knit?  Don't you wish you had my worries?

Then, I think to myself, perhaps I should try and get an even older project off the needles, one that I discovered while searching for a needle I needed for those Father's day socks.
This has been hibernating for quite some time.  I think I bit off a little more than I could chew back then, the yarn was a little slippery on the needles, I had to pay attention to the pattern, I was working with fingering weight yarn for the first time.  As I was slipping the stitches from one set of needles to another, I realized it is quite manageable now, so I really should finish it.

Like I said, many doors have opened, stay tuned to see which door I walk through first...and if that one has time to close behind me before I jump to a different threshold.
