With the shocking lack of entries, one might assume I'd gone away. i have been busy and each time I think about making a new post, I remember how long it has been and how much I would have to catch up on, and then I just don't post. Well, if I kept that up I may never return, so instead, I won't try and make up for lost time. I will just pick up and go, maybe with a few flashbacks here and there.
In the time I have been gone, I have been reading. I read and very thoroughly enjoyed Under the Dome by Stephen King. It is going to be a miniseries soon and I am looking forward to it. I also started a book club of sorts on facebook with a few people that I am related to and friends with in my town. We read The Lord of the Flies together. I'd read it before, but thought I would give it another run through along with everyone. Around November I joined in a RAL on Ravelry for Pride and Prejudice. I kept up until about the fourth chapter and then fell tragically behind. The bookmark is still holding my place. I also finally started Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice. I have wanted to read that series for some time and spent a while first collecting all of the books. The reading group I started, Cosy Casual Readers, had a few members interested in reading it and a couple of members finished it. I, however, got half through and the bookmark remains, holding my place. Can you see where this is going? Yep, I have aquired quite a pile of books-in-progress.
I was such a monogamous reader, how did this happen?
I spent quite a lot of time since my last post working on projects made with yarn from my stash. I wanted to put at least a divot in my yarn reserve before buying more. It was refreshing to decide on something to make and just go pull the yarn out for it and dig in. All diets must come to an end, one way or another, and so has my little stash diving yarn diet. Look at my most recent acquisition:
I am almost finished with one pair of socks so that warrants buying two new skeins to replace the one I used, right? eh, whatevah. Look how pretty! These are by Opal Yarns and from the Vincent Van Gogh collection. I must admit, I really just wanted them, because I love Van Gogh, but they really are soft and pretty.
Let us not forget the caffeine part of this blog! I have not had a taste for tea in a while now. I have been drinking plenty of coffee though. I even got a couple new mugs from friends and family that noticed the recent spike in coffee consumption.
