Greetings

Happy Holidays!  So it has been a little while since I have had anything remarkable to post about.  Now I do have something...

I have been knitting up a storm!  Yay!  I have some better nausea medicine and so I have actually had more good days than bad one for about a week and a half now.  Due to feeling better and having more energy from ingesting food and allowing it to digest before it leaves me, I have started knitting again.  At first I was just picking up my Cythera scarf and doing a row or 2 and then awhile later another couple of rows.  This soon turned into me knitting through a color change or two.  Then I went to Walmart and actually found a skein of holiday colored cotton and bought it so I could make my mother a hand towel like mine.  This was a request on her part.  She does know how to knit but doesn't do anything more than garter stitch.  She admired the Holiday Guest Hand Towel that I made for my bathroom and said that she would like one.  I told her that I have not seen any of that color yarn since last year at Christmastime.  The color was mistletoe and the yarn Sugar and Cream cotton.  At Walmart the Peaches and Cream brand calls their version Yuletide and when I spotted it I grabbed a ball to make her the towel.  At first I told her not to expect it before Christmas but I had found the yarn and maybe she could have it to use next year.  However, I decided to cast on one evening and finished it only 2 days later!  It is now wrapped and ready for me to present to her tomorrow.

I said to myself this year that I wasn't going to do any Christmas knitting since it has taken me almost 3 months to finish my Holiday Hand Towel and my Cythera scarf.  I managed to finish a scarf and knitted vulva for Jason's birthday but only because the scarf only needed the ends sewn in and the vagina only needed seaming up.  Since I finished my mother's towel so quickly though, I decided at 12am two nights ago to make soap sacks for Jason and Nick for Christmas.  I cast on the first and put on the movie Due Date in the backround and finished the first sack.  I then put on Hitman and worked through the second sack.  I had both finished by 5am and that included a snack break, so I was quite pleased.

Now that Christmas has come and gone and I made gifts for three recipients I plan to finish the Cythera Scarf.  I also want to make a Soap sack for myself.  I also Have plans to finally finally finish Strangers by Dean Koontz and move on to Apt Pupil by Stephen King.  I have read two of the novellas included in Different Seasons; Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption and The Breathing Method.  I read these a couple of years ago and then traded my paperback in before reading Apt Pupil and the Body.  I just got Different Seasons for my Kindle and so I plan to at least read Apt Pupil beofre hopefully finishing the Casteel series by V. C. Andrews that I started 2 years ago when I was pregnant with Sarah:  I am on book 3 of 5 in that series.

So that sort of encompasses what I have accomplished in the past couple of weeks.  I even enjoyed a cup of coffee from McDonald's two days ago and a nice cup of tea this evening.  Let's hope I am getting back to my old self.  And as for all of you out there, I hope that you have had happy holidays and enjoy the new year with a good book, some luscious yarn and a nice cup of tea or coffee!
