More plans for Socks

I recently finished and blocked my Monkey socks.

Since finishing those, it has taken large amounts of willpower not to cast on a new sock before finishing at least one Fissility in Pumpkin Spice.  I am only a few repeats from the cuff on that sock and as soon as I move it to the 9" circular for the top ribbing I am going to cast on a new sock.

I wrote about some of the sock ideas I had bouncing around in my brain in a blog entry last month.  Since then, I have come up with even more ideas that all want to be cast on right now.  I am going to list the ideas now:

  • A sock with Seaworthy as the main color and with the new colorway, Blue Sun, as the heels/toes/cuffs using the Fissility pattern.  I still need to buy a skein of Blue Sun.
  • Speaking of Blue Sun, I also want to make a pair of Gator socks using Hogtown Special in the Tiptree base and use some of that skein of Blue Sun for the heels and toes and cuffs of those socks.
  • A sock with Seaworthy as the main color and using Irish Coffee for the heels/toes/cuffs.  I will have Irish Coffee left over from the Pumpkin Spice Fissility socks to use for this.
  • A self striping sock in plain vanilla style.
  • A self striping sock with the Fissility pattern.
  • The paw tracks socks I mentioned before and have already caked the skeins for.
  • I need to make 2 more monkey socks to go with the two I completed to have a whole set for mom and for me.
  • A sock using one of my Lorna's Laces yarns.
  • A sock using one of my Knit Picks Felici self striping yarns.
Today I found myself entertaining the idea of actually going ahead and casting on a few of these to get it out of my system.  I have a few empty needles.  I figured, why not go ahead and get the socks cast on, then the needles wouldn't be empty.  But NO!  If i have a ton of socks cast on at once it will take all that much longer before any of them are actually finished.  I sure hope typing about it helps me stay focused on finishing that sock and only casting on one of the ideas and not all of the ideas.
