Slipper Socks

The slipper socks I made for Dad for Father's Day were very well received.  My mom actually requested a pair with the same style and yarn choice, Knit Picks Chroma Worsted, but in feminine colors.  I have been working the past week on making her a pair with a skein from my stash, in the Midwinter colorway, I hope to have a picture to share within the next week.

Working on this second pair, and how fuzzy soft and warm the wool is makes me realize that I really need to make a third pair, this time for myself.  I made both other pair using one ball of the yarn and then working the afterthought heel with some Paton's Wool from Michael's.  I think for my pair I will use The Prism colorway:

I already have one ball in my stash, however I really would like to make one sock using the entire ball and then make the second sock with another ball.  I just need to decide if I really want to buy another ball and have tall socks, and have them possibly be varying degrees of the same colorway since they will be from dye lots separated by about two years manufacture.

I may just bite the bullet and get that second ball though, because right now Knit Picks is having a promotion where you get one of the new Wool of the Andes Superwash yarns free with purchase.  There are three colors in that new line that I think would be perfect for a Worsted Weight Jayne Cobb- style hat and I would get one of those or at least a feel for the yarn with that free ball.  Also, I envision really slouchy comfy slipper house socks for me with that Prism yarn.  Almost like leg warmers with feet if you will.
